Artifact Uprising: Effortlessly Moving Our Stories Off Our Devices + Into Our Lives
From the moment I placed my order online, I eagerly awaited the little black box that would soon appear on my front steps. Sure enough, a few days later I was greeted by a package that read, “The Wait Is Finally Over.”
Inside the cardboard box were 25 square prints from Artifact Uprising, a professional printing company that encourages the art of photography. I felt instant happiness as I thumbed through images documenting my summer spent living in Nashville, Tennessee. Hot chicken for lunch at the famous Hattie B’s. The incredible skyline view from the top of the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge. A Sunday afternoon spent picking fresh flowers at Amelia’s Flower Truck. Posing it up in front of Nashville’s urban art murals.
These same pictures that could be found stored in the Camera Roll on my iPhone or shared with friends on Instagram, contained much more meaning when beautifully printed. So rarely do we move our stories off our devices and into our lives.
In the past, I had become discouraged while attempting to print photos at the do-it-yourself stations found at local drug stores. Though quick and inexpensive, the images are more often than not, grainy and overly saturated at best. This lack of quality consequently kept photos hidden on my phone or stuffed in drawers instead of proudly displayed in my home. So, why even bother?
The Square Print Set from Artifact Uprising is a game changer. Crisply produced on sturdy (5x5, 120 pound) bright white paper, my images look even better printed than on my phone. I couldn’t believe it! I was at a loss for words, but my huge smile said it all: nostalgic, expressive, and completely impressed. With the help of Artifact Uprising, these exceptionally printed photographs will be cherished for years to come. I am able to vividly relive and proudly share some of my most favorite Nashville memories in a way that social media just doesn’t compare.
