My White + Gold Bedroom Tour
Every so often I’m tempted by colorful spaces and playful patterns, but no matter what, I can’t resist an all white bedroom. I just love the look of a crisp white bed (despite being a notorious spiller), and the feel of a light and airy room. I have a soft spot for neutrals, and this ever-growing Pinterest board is proof!
When we sold the house I grew up in last summer, I used this fresh start as an excuse to finally go for the all white bedroom I had always wanted. And when I stumbled on the perfect white quilt and matching European pillows, I knew I made the right choice.
Now that I’m all settled, I’m excited to share these photos of my bedroom and a few decorating tips!
With a little bit of patience and an eye for the right pieces, I was able to decorate my room on a budget. The majority of my best finds came from Homegoods, TJ Maxx + Marshalls, so I encourage you to do some searching at these stores first! However, I did round up a few similar, cost-effective options for you, too.
Gold Details
It’s easy to get carried away at Homegoods, but it’s important to keep it simple in a white and gold space. The last thing you want is for your room to look cluttered — which can happen fast! — so be intentional as you make decisions about the details. A pretty gold frame and the glow of a candle can accent a room in all the right ways!
Don’t get discouraged if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for on your first trip to Homegoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. It can be really hit or miss sometimes, so hold out for the gems because you will find them!
White Textures
Texture is a girl’s best, especially in an all white bedroom.
Be on the lookout for subtle textures, like a quilt with intricate stitching, an embroidered pillow, a shag rug, a faux fur blanket or a macrame wall hanging. It’s the best way to give your space a little more personality and warmth!
Black + White Graphics
When you have a bright white bedroom with gold accents, any bit of color that enters the room will be more noticeable than usual. To keep everything cohesive, I suggest printing photos in black and white to put in your new gold frames. If you’re craving contrast, bold graphics may be just what your room needs. Black + white wall art, greeting cards and posters are a great way to add visual interest!
