My Summer Bucket List
HATTIE SNEAKER
Thank you to Vionic for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
Earlier this summer, Vionic invited me to be a part of their Discover the Secret campaign, a social media movement led by Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam that challenges that idea that comfort can't be cute.
And to that I said, challenge accepted!
After years of sacrificing style for arch support, I know just how hard it can be to find a supportive pair of shoes that are fashion forward. But have you seen these sneakers?!
With espadrille detailing this cute, you would never guess that I chose the Hattie Sneaker because of its amazing arch support!
For the rest of the summer, you can catch me in my Hattie Sneakers as I attempt to cross off everything on my summer bucket list!
PADDLE BOARD AT SUNRISE
During the day it's usually way too hot and humid to go paddle boarding, so my boyfriend and I like to wait until the evening to take our boards down to the water. Not only does it cool off a lot, we also get to enjoy a peaceful sunset together during these sessions.
That said, we have yet to go out for an early morning sunrise! Even though I'm really not a morning person, I think a sunrise session would be so worth the early wake up call!
CAMP ON THE BEACH
Last summer, I blogged about my first time camping in Chincoteague, Virginia. It was such a fun, laid-back weekend with my boyfriend and our friends, and I'm looking forward to round two this summer.
This time, I'm hoping we can camp on Assateague Island, a dog-friendly beach that let's campers set-up tents on the dunes. Just imagine falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, and rising naturally with the sun in the AM. In my opinion, it doesn't get much better than that!
MAKE HEALTHY HOMEMADE POPSICLES
I'm guilty of pinning recipe ideas for later, only to make the same basic 10 I know. But when I saw these Frozen Smoothie Bars on Pinterest, I promised myself that I would actually make this summertime snack. It's hard to find something sweet and satisfying that I can enjoy guilt-free, so I have high hopes for these pops by Bakers Royale!
PICNIC IN THE PARK
When Brady and I lived in Nashville, we would always daydream about the picturesque park in our West End neighborhood, and how perfect it would be for our future dog someday.
Two years later, we're no longer living in Tennessee, but we do have a playful puppy! And, our not so little pup loves to run and play and swim and fetch, so I predict many active afternoons at the park with my dude and my doodle.
SUNDAY AT THE FARMER'S MARKET
I typically do my grocery shopping for the upcoming week on Sunday at Trader Joe's or Giant, but I would prefer to buy fresh fruit and veggies from our local farmers at the market instead! Plus, I've heard that the Baltimore Farmer's Market + Bazaar is the place to be on a Sunday morning in Charm City.
VISIT A VINEYARD IN VIRGINIA
For my birthday, my boyfriend promised me a day trip to Virginia wine country, but we've been holding out for the right weekend! Between work, weather and our busy summer schedules, it's been hard to find a weekend worth making the drive.
However, I cannot wait to visit Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards! After swooning over the stunning pictures on their website, it's no surprise that it was voted a top ten wedding venue in the U.S. by Martha Stewart. I have a feeling it's going to be a dreamy little getaway for us in early September!
PICK FRESH BERRIES
I'll admit that I can be a little picky when it comes to food, but I have loved berries of all kinds for as long as I can remember. Strawberries are without a doubt my favorite, but I could easily eat blueberries and raspberries by the handful, too.
Similar to shopping at the farmer's market, I think berry picking would be a fun way to mix up how I purchase produce this summer. Depending on what's available, maybe I'll even get a little fancy and try to make this baked french toast with blueberries or this strawberry watermelon sangria!
DINNER UNDER THE STARS
Every Wednesday night in Annapolis during the summer, West Street shuts down to replace cars with cafe tables so that Annapolitans can enjoy dinner under the stars. And yes, it's as adorable as it sounds!
I've yet to make a reservation this summer, and they can be little hard to come by, so I better get on that!
GO TO THE MARYLAND STATE FAIR
I've never had a huge desire to go to the state fair, but I do think it would be an awesome photoshoot location! I would love to spend an August afternoon with my favorite Baltimore bloggers, posing with cotton candy and playing carnival games.
I've been saving inspiration to a board on Pinterest, and I'm convinced the photos would turn out so cute! Agreed?
